Photomaster for a “Transite” made for the production of the 1979 film Star Trek: The Motion Picture. When an alien spacecraft of enormous power is spotted approaching Earth, Admiral James T. Kirk resumes command of the overhauled USS Enterprise in order to intercept it. This was made by the art department and was used to create the final version of the “translite” featured in the film. The piece features a white board background with transparency on the top of the docking port details. Once photographed it would have been used to make a piece of film that would have been illuminated to create one of the futuristic looking screens featured in the film. This piece measures around 12″x. 10″ and remain in excellent, production made condition.
